At Manistee River Salmon Guide Service, we offer fishing trips lasting approximately 6 hours for 1 or 2 anglers. A third angler can easily be accommodated for an additional fee. Larger parties can also be booked with multiple boats. Our rates reflect the fact that we hold a Federal permit for the Big Manistee River, allowing us to legally launch in areas many other guides cannot. Despite rising fuel costs, we keep our rates as competitive as possible with other outfitters and guides. We would love the opportunity to showcase this incredible salmon and steelhead fishery. A grilled lunch is included for the salmon and steelhead trips. Inquire about our non-fishing eco-tours.
A $100 deposit is required to hold your guide trip date of choice. I reserve the right to retain your deposit should you cancel within 28 days without rescheduling. Manistee River Salmon Guide Service also reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to unsafe or unfishable conditions. Please contact Captain Ben for the 2011 rates either by phone or email. We would be happy to discuss our pricing with you and answer any questions you may have.

The city of Manistee and the Manistee River are located on the western shores of Michigan, along a gorgeous stretch of Lake Michigan beaches and countryside. Almost directly across Lake Michigan from Green Bay, WI. the Big Manistee River is just about equidistant from Chicago and Detroit. 63 miles from Traverse City to the north and 120 miles from Grand Rapids to the south, the Manistee River is well worth the drive! The boat ramps we use are Federal or private launches, and will be determined prior to the trip to get us as close to the fishing holes as possible. Directions to the appropriate ramp will be discussed.

Michigan weather can be unpredictable, so it is always important to dress for the occasion. Fall mornings are often times pretty chilly, so jackets and or sweatshirts can be key. Winter steelhead trips are cold. Layers of appropriate clothing are a must.
